Our Company Logo
This is our current company logo but the history of our logo is quite extensive. When we first started Creative Ink & Vinyl I tried to put something together that incorporated an ink splat in the design. We used that simple design for a couple of years. This is what it looked like:
Both Tamra and I were not sold on the idea that this was to be our company logo so I started playing around again with putting more color into the design. Here is an attempt in doing that:
I took this idea and tried to blend it so it didn't look so much like puzzle pieces and ended with this result:
I then tried a little more blending and adding the company name.
I really wanted a creative design as "Creative" is part of the company name but I think I was trying too hard. I really liked the idea of using the I and V in the word creative for "INK" & "VINYL" but Tamra was never really sold on the idea. So I scrapped the whole ink splat idea and just started playing with the letters. I still wanted to incorporate "Ink & Vinyl" into the word "Creative" somehow and found that they would fit into the spaces. This produced the next step of our logo design:
I liked the idea of showing "Ink & Vinyl" in the spaces but Tamra thought it looked like prison bars so I went back to improving the design. I then wanted to incorporate a look of contrast but still keep the spacing idea which resulted in the next consept:
We still didn't have a winner so I took what I had so far and made a few more adjustments. Here is that result:
Finally I took out the boxes effect and just added a solid background. I still wanted the letters to stand out so I added the shodowing to them. It isn't quite as obvious that "Ink & Vinyl" fit into the spaces of "Creative" but this is a design that we both liked.
What do you think?
